On Jun. 14 (15 before daylight in Japan) Japan won the game against Cameroon 1-0 on the World Cup.
Japan's win in South Africa had never been expected by every Japanese media because recently they had never won the international matches.
Moreover in the FIFA ranking Cameroon (19) is higher than Japan (45) (see here**.)
By the way, the game started at 11 p.m. Jun. 14 in Japanese Time.
But I watched only the second half; I just forgot that the game was yesterday!
Therefore I missed the last night's only goal scene by Honda Keisuke (No. 18) in the first half.
DAP (Deutsche Presse-Agentur), a German news agency, said "Japan produced one of the biggest upsets of the World Cup by defeating fancied Cameroon" (see here**.)
(「本命のカメルーンを破り、日本は今大会最大の番狂わせupsetを生み出した」)
Isn't that rude to express "upset" though it's a fact? (laugh.)
