Surprisingly, like Ramen Marusuga (らーめん○菅) on the last article, in this blog I have never introduced you also a Jiro-inspired ramen shop in Kameari, Ramen Tonki (らーめん豚喜@亀有).
This shop is very popular for ramen fans. It has No. 37 ranking on Ramen Date Base* (ラーメンデータベース) (as of Oct. 22) and is located relatively near from my house but I have not so often visited Tonki as Marusuga; it was Apr. 28 this year that I visited Tonki last.
I have not visited it often because it had often closed the business early or taken extra holidays before.
But it seems that circumstances of its business has been improved.
About 8:30 p.m. I visited Tonki with my brother.
The shop was shut up soon after we entered it; we were the final customers.
I chose large-sized (大らーめん) (780 yen), my brother normal-sized ramen (小らーめん) (680 yen.)
Large-sized ramen
Today I ate its ramen first in a long time, as I stated above.
Has it been good so much long before? better than I remember!
Its ramen tastes as good as Jiro Senju-oohashi's one (ラーメン二郎 千住大橋店).
In comparison with Senju-oohashi, Tonki's noodles are more chewy than Senju-oohashi; Senju-oohashi boils noodles very soft like Japanese "udon" (日本のうどん).
And there is a large amount of a bowl of Tonki.
A bowl of Senju-oohashi is relatively small (for Jiro!) and I have got used to it therefore I felt full so much after finished eating Tonki's ramen.
(Of course I ate it up all!)
Perhaps I had better not choose large-sized at Tonki as well as at Jiro Tachikawa (ラーメン二郎 立川店) or Shin-koganei-kaidou (同 新小金井街道).
(But foolishly I would choose it next time!)
Anyway, it is certain that I "rediscovered" such a good ramen shop.
Perhaps I might go to Senju-oohashi less time after this than before.
My brother
=====
4 days after, Oct 17 (Mon), in the evening about 6:30 p.m. I visited Tonki again with my brother.
And since Oct. 13 I have never visited Senju-oohashi as of Oct 22, whereas I had frequented it at least once a week before.
